With the aim of strengthening the faith of its members and thus to make them true witness to the Gospel values, the Archdiocese gives top-most importance to the field of Catechetics. To facilitate in this great mission, the Archdiocese has a full time Commission for Catechetics with a priest director and a resource team of 40 members.
To train and help the students in their efforts of maturing their faith, teachers render their valuable services every year. The classes of one to two hours duration are held on Sundays, usually in morning after the Holy Mass, in each Catechetical Unit. The classes are conducted for 10 months a year from June to March that end with Annual assessment exams. The Commission for Catechetics of the Archdiocese helps the Catechetical Units in providing them with text books, audio-visual media, smart class, mobile application, leaflets, training camps, seminars, retreats and other extra-curricular activities to effect the integral growth of each individual. As a follow up program for the Catechetical classes the department conducts youth catechetical classes and Adult Catechetical classes and various Catholic faith training programs for the same.
